Dr Peter Hill
Non Executive Chairman
Dr. Hill has over 40 years of experience in the international oil and natural gas industry. He commenced his career in 1972 and spent 22 years in senior positions at British Petroleum including Chief Geologist, Chief of Staff for BP Exploration, President of BP Venezuela and Regional Director for Central and South America. Dr. Hill then worked as Vice President of Exploration at Ranger Oil Ltd. in England (1994-1995), Managing Director Exploration and Production at Deminex GMBH Oil in Germany (1995-1997), Technical Director/Chief Operating Officer at Hardy Oil & Gas plc (1998-2000), President and Chief Executive Officer at Harvest Natural Resources, Inc. (2000-2005), Director/Chairman at Austral Pacific Energy Ltd. (2006-2008), independent advisor to Palo Alto Investors (January 2008 to December 2009), Non-Executive Chairman at Toreador Resources Corporation (January 2009 to April 2011), Director of Midstates Petroleum Company, Inc. (April 2013 to March 2015), interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Midstates Petroleum Company, Inc. (March 2014 to March 2015) and Chief Executive of Triangle Petroleum (2010 – 2012) before being appointed Chairman in 2012 to present. Dr. Hill has a B.Sc. (Honors) in Geology and a Ph.D.
 
 

Mr Terence Maxwell Barr

Managing Director
Mr Barr was appointed Managing Directors of the Company on 25 January 2005.  Mr Barr is a petroleum geologist with over 30 year's experience, including 11 years with Santos.  In recent years, Mr Barr has specialized in tight gas exploration, drilling and completion and is considered an expert in this field. Prior to joining Samson, Mr Barr was employed as Managing Director by Ausam Resources from 1999 to 2003 and as was the owner of Barco Exploration from 2003 to 2005.
 
Mr Nicholas Ong
Mr. Ong was appointed as Company Secretary on May 17th 2019.
Mr. Ong was a principal adviser at the Australian Securities Exchange in Perth and brings 15 years of experience in listing rules compliance and corporate governance. While at the ASX, he oversaw the listing of over 100 companies to the official list of the ASX. Additionally, Mr. Ong was a commercial director at Excelsior Gold Ltd., a public exploration and mining firm. He is also a director of Helios Energy Ltd, Arrow Minerals Ltd, White Cliff Minerals Ltd and Co Assets Ltd, and acts as company secretary for White Cliff Minerals Ltd and Love Group Ltd. He is also a member of the Governance Institute of Australia. Mr. Ong holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Australia and a Bachelor of Commerce from Murdoch University. He also holds graduate diplomas of Applied Finance and Investments and Applied Corporate Governance from the Securities Institute of Australia and the Governance Institute of Australia, respectively.
Mr Denis Rakich
Executive Director

Mr Rakich was appointed Company Secretary on 18 June 1998 and ceased in that role on May 15th 2019.  Mr Rakich is an accountant and Company secretary with extensive corporate experience within the petroleum services, petroleum and mineral production and exploration industries  He is a member of the Australian Society of Accountants and is currently Company Secretary for another public Company in the resources sector.

Mr Gregory Channon
Non Executive Director
Mr Channon is a geologist with over 31 years of international experience in the oil and gas industry.  Mr Channon commenced his career in 1984 as a Wellsite and Operations Geologist at Delhi Petroleum before joining Santos as an Explorationist in 1987.   For the next 13 years, Mr Channon held various executive and mangement roles in Santos, and made a number of onshore and offshore discoveries.  In 2000, Mr Channon moved to New Zealand with Fletcher Challenge Energy and later became the Exploration Portfolio Manager for Shell in New Zealand and then Manager of Geology for Swift Energy New Zealand.  In 2005, Mr Channon had returned to Australia and taken up the role of CEO for the unconventional gas start-up company Alto Energy.   He secured and developed a portfolio of shale gas assets in the Appalachia region of the USA.  In late 2006 he joined Salinas Energy as General Manager, undertaking a heavy oil development in California, USA.  Between 2009-2012, Mr Channon moved to Hong Kong and joined Brightoil Petroleum Holdings Limited as the Upstream CEO.  He is currently the CEO of Pathfinder Energy  Pty Ltd.  During his career, Mr Channon has sat on the Board of Directors of companies listed on the ASX, TSX and HKSE.
 
 
Ms Janna Blanter
Chief Financial Officer.

Ms. Blanter has extensive experience in finance in the areas of financial reporting, credit risk management, financial analysis and due diligence. Ms. Blanter’s professional career spans over 30 years in the various areas of energy industry, both in financial institutions and in a corporate setting. She has extensive experience in financial evaluations, contract negotiations, compliance monitoring, turnaround consulting and workouts. Since May 2017 she was engaged in financial management consulting practice.  From May 2014 to May 2017 Ms. Blanter held a position of Chief Financial Officer with Santa Fe Natural Resources, privately held small E&P company with assets in NW Colorado.  From May 2013 to May 2014 Ms. Blanter served as Senior Vice President & Senior Approval Officer, energy lending group, for NBH Bank.  From April 2003 to May 2014, Ms. Blanter was in financial management consulting practice for a variety of clients involving contract CFO, strategic financial planning, internal audit, due diligence and business management consulting assignments. Previously she worked as Director of Credit, energy trading operations for Duke Energy (2000-2003) and enjoyed 15 year (1984-1999) career at Bank of Scotland where her last position was Vice President, commercial loan origination in the energy sector. Ms. Blanter has MBA, B. Accountancy and BBA in Finance from University of Houston and is a licensed  CPA.
